Ayanna Williams from Houston broke the Guinness world record
for the longest nails in the world in 2017, when they were almost 19 feet long. It took her over two bottles of nail polish and 20 hours to do her manicure at that point.
Before having them cut over the weekend, she got one last measurement: 24ft, 0.7in. This manicure required three to four bottles of nail polish in a few days.
Williams performed the task at a dermatology office in Fort Worth, Texas, where a power rotary tool was used for his first nail cut since the early 1990s.
“With or without my fingernails, I’ll always be the queen,” Williams said, according to Guinness. “My nails don’t do me, I do my nails!”
Williams said she plans to grow her fingernails only about six inches, according to Believe it or not Ripley!
, who will be exhibiting her clipped fingernails at her museum in Orlando, Florida.
Until now, Williams has been unable to do certain activities, such as washing dishes and putting sheets on a bed. She said her new goal was to encourage the next nail enthusiast to fight for a Guiness World Records title.
The record for the longest nails ever made on a pair of female hands still belongs to Lee Redmond, who started growing them in 1979. They reached a length of 28 feet, but Redmond lost them in a car accident. in 2009, according to Guinness World Records
