10 city building and management games for armchair tycoons

Before children and Other responsibilities, when I played regularly until the early hours of the morning, playing business sims was one of my favorite activities. I spent countless days building Sim Tower, Simcity, and Amusement park. I ran a studio at Movies, ran a menagerie in Zoo Tycoon, and build the pyramids in Pharaoh. My wicked lairs in Dungeon Guardian 2 and Evil genius were beyond comparison. I have built impregnable castles in Bastion, and I spent days in Game development story-a game on creating games.

These games are the perfect foil to multiplayer madness, providing an absorbing breakout table for one. As the kids got older, I found myself with a little more time to scratch that management and building itch, and these are the games that sucked me in again.

A note for potential gamers: While there are often console versions out there, you tend to get better controls and more depth if you’re playing on PC.

The Galaxy A52 5G (7/10 WIRED Recommend) isn’t the flashiest of smartphones, but you can count on it to get the job done. It packs a 120 Hz OLED display (like the new iPhone 13 Pro), 5G connectivity, a MicroSD card slot and even a headphone jack. It will also receive three years of Android updates and four years of security fixes. so you can keep it for a while.

If your phone is still at 10% or less, take a look at the Moto G Power (5/10 WIRED Recommend). It has a 5,000mAh battery that will last almost three full days. With a Snapdragon 662 chip, it also performs decently considering its low price. Naturally, you’ll have to settle for dull photos in low light with the camera, a rather dark screen, and no NFC for contactless payments. He dives frequently at this price.

Bought the new one iPhone 13 and watching for accessories? The Belkin Magnetic Wireless Charger supports MagSafe, which makes it very easy to magnetically connect to your iPhone. It also comes with a built-in 6-foot-long cable and a 20-watt power adapter (to compensate for its low charging speed of 7.5 watts).

Outlets can be scarce when you’re on the move, which is why a portable battery is an essential accessory for traveling. Nimble’s Champ Lite has a capacity of 5200 m-Ah with one USB-C port and one USB-A port, so you can charge two devices at once.

Autumn is a excellent season for outdoor workouts and activities, such as running, camping and boating. The Garmin Instinct Solar (8/10 WIRED Recommend) is the editor of WIRED Adrienne So favorite tracker. It has built-in GPS that’s pretty accurate compared to online maps and a pulse oximeter to track oxygen levels in the blood while you sleep. And he can ascend thanks to the power of the sun.

The Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 3 is one of some connected watches there that will receive the Wear OS 3 upgrade from Google next year. It’s powered by Qualcomm’s latest Wear 4100+ processor, so it runs flawlessly. You’ll also get nearly two full days of battery life, thanks to Mobvoi’s innovative dual-layer screen, as well as sleep tracking.

Macbook Air

MacBook Air with M1

The MacBook Air regularly goes on sale for $ 900, so while that extra $ 50 discount isn’t life-changing, it’s rare. On the outside, the MacBook Air with M1 (9/10 WIRED Recommend) has a redesigned keyboard but looks a lot like its predecessors. Inside, you get great performance with Apple’s own silicon, quiet, fanless construction, and long battery life. Our Best Guide to MacBooks has more details.

Keyboard cases on tablets can feel unnecessarily bulky, so just use a Bluetooth keyboard instead. The Logitech K380 can connect to three devices and has the ability to quickly switch between them. It’s lightweight, which makes it ideal for traveling, and it’s available in a fun pink color.

With responsive, fast and tactile switches, the Roccat Vulcan 121 is a great option for gamers looking to upgrade their mechanical keyboard. It’s super loud, but in a way it’s more satisfying than annoying.

If you’re feeling fine without a numeric keypad or arrow keys, the Razer Huntsman Mini could be a great addition to your gaming setup. This 60% keyboard is small, so you’ll have room for other accessories on your desk, and its keys are as responsive as those of a full-size keyboard. It also works well with Razer’s key kits if you want to change the style of the keyboard.

This one was dubbed “the near perfect planner” in our roundup of our Favorite paper diaries. It’s super customizable, with a variety of size options, the ability to choose between horizontal or vertical layouts, and expansion packs. As a cute extra touch, you will also find phrases and quotes in the divider tabs.

These dropped again earlier this summer, but it’s still a good price on a pack of 60 KN95 face masks. They are especially useful for indoor spaces, like grocery stores, living rooms, school events, or anywhere you will be that requires spending long periods of time. They are disposable, but if you ventilate them you can use them up to three times.

Required to wear a face mask all day? Timbuk2’s reusable face mask is not like a traditional mask that buckles behind your ears. Instead, it ties around your head, which helps relieve your ears. It is also made from cotton jersey and has an integrated pocket for a filter.

  • Nokia XR20 (6 Go, 128 Go) États-Unis/Royaume-Uni : 549 $ / 449 £
  • Nokia XR20 (4 Go, 64 Go) UE : 499 €

Leaked Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus renderings: evolution rather than revolution?

  • Renderings apparently showing the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus have leaked online.
  • It shows a phone that looks almost identical to the Galaxy S21 Plus.

We had our first supposed look at the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra yesterday as serial leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer and Figure. In Shared renderings purportedly showing the 2022 flagship. Now it looks like we’re getting a first look at the Galaxy S22 Plus as well.

Inhibitor and 91mobiles published renditions (see below) which apparently show the middle child Galaxy S22 Series in a green color. And it looks like the S22 Plus has a lot in common with its predecessor, like a center-mounted punch-hole cutout and the same triple camera housing mounted in the left corner of the rear cover. Even the flash position is identical to the 2021 Plus model.

In terms of I / O, it looks like Samsung has moved the volume keys a bit lower on the side of the phone compared to the S21 Plus. Otherwise, you have a USB-C port, a speaker grille, and a SIM tray at the bottom of the phone. The phone would also measure 157.4mm x 75.8mm x 7.6mm, with the camera bump bringing the thickness to 9.1mm.

Oddly enough, Hemmerstoffer told the point of sale that he received the renderings as the Samsung Galaxy S22 Pro rather than the Galaxy S22 Plus. We’ll have to wait for more leaks and official information to see if Samsung actually opts for a name change.

It wouldn’t be the first time that a Pro name has been featured for an upcoming Samsung phone, however. Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 Plus has been dubbed the Galaxy note 10 pro by multiple sources before it was revealed, but it obviously didn’t work.

Either way, the S22 Plus looks more like an evolution compared to the S21 Plus. Meanwhile, the leaked renderings of the S22 Ultra show a device that is drastically different from the S21 Ultra, with an S Pen slot and a P-shaped camera bump.

Avis Realme Pad : prix bas, ambitions limitées

  • Realme Pad (3 Go/32 Go) : Rs. 13 999 (~ 190 $)
  • Realme Pad (3 Go/32 Go Wi-Fi + LTE) : Rs. 15 999 (~ 218 $)
  • Realme Pad (4 Go/64 Go Wi-Fi + LTE) : Rs. 17 999 (~ 245 $)
  • Realme Pad (6 Go/128 Go) : Être annoncé

It’s a convenient and simple solution for people who have both of these things. It is also free, although it is not compatible with all devices at the time of writing. Another cool app in this space is Helicon Remote, but it’s really expensive and only works on Nikon cameras.

qDslr Dashboard

Price: $ 8.66

qDslrDashboard is one of the best DSLR apps for Android

qDslrDashboard is a DSLR app that works great or doesn’t seem to work at all. The app works for Canon, Nikon and Sony mirrorless cameras. The app has an extensive list of features including support for multiple cameras, the ability to view and remove photos from a camera, time lapse controls, wireless controls, and more. It also works via USB-OTG if you need to go the wired route. It is not compatible with all cameras and many people have reported connection issues and other miscellaneous bugs. Considering its price, we imagine that this is why the rating is a little lower than what we would normally see. Either way, if you try this out, be sure to test as thoroughly as you can during the payback period, just in case.

Intelligent infrared remote control

Price: Free / $ 6.99

Screenshot of the 2021 smart infrared remote control

Joe Hindy / Android Authority

Smart IR Remote is mainly intended for TVs and other home electronics. However, there are some cameras with IR receivers. There is an immediate caveat with this one. Your device needs an infrared blaster on the phone or this remote app will not work at all. Otherwise, it should work with almost anything with an IR receiver, and that includes some DSLRs and camera remotes. There isn’t an easy-to-reference list for which cameras will work with this one. We recommend that you download the free version of the app and see if it works with your camera. The pro version is pretty expensive, but it’s probably the best IR remote app on Google Play so, you know, you get what you pay for.

The best car buying apps for Android

We already buy tons of stuff through apps. Why not the cars? Car buying websites have been around for ages. Giants like AutoTrader and CarMax have had websites for years. It is only recently that good car buying apps have started to appear. Going to a dealership is still the best way to view cars. You can test them and view the inventory yourself. However, apps can be a great way to shop and see what’s available. Here are the best car buying apps for Android.

We would like to give honorable mention to both Craigslist (google play) and Facebook Marketplace (Google play link). Most of the stuff there is relatively cheap, but a lot of people sell cars there and the dealers often post for deals and stuff. It’s a little unruly, but it’s fun to navigate.

This makes it a decent all-in-one search solution for car buyers. The interface is basic but efficient and it looks good.

The best home hunting apps and real estate apps for Android

Joe Hindy / Android Authority

Buying a home is big business. You have to find the home you want, find a real estate agent, get approved for a loan, and tons of other stuff. It can be a stressful process.

However, once you enter your house, that’s it. You just pay your mortgage and have fun. We can’t help you every step of the way, but we can help you with the start of it! Here are the best home finder and real estate apps for Android! It should be noted that there are large real estate services like Re / Max and 21st Century Homes. We recommend that you use their mobile sites as their apps are not very good.

The best home hunting apps and real estate apps for Android

The Secret of Home Finder Apps

So here’s the thing about house finder apps. Most of the big ones like Zillow and Trulia have outdated information. Sites are getting ads from everywhere and many ads are out of date. Some ads may be several years out of date if the original poster never updates or deletes the ad.

Thus, we recommend these services as reference guides. You can see price trends in the area of your choice, get an idea of the tax amount, and apps like Trulia can give you information like foot traffic and crime rates.

For a real home search, your best bet is to find a real estate agent. They have resources that traditional services do not have and their listing resources are much more specific than Zillow or Trulia. Actual home buying is competitive, and good properties often receive multiple offers within hours or days of listing. Even if you find a property open on Zillow or similar apps, by the time you go through the appropriate channels to make an offer, the house is probably already off the market and you have to start all over again. Yes, it happens so fast.

Most real estate agencies have apps or websites with the most recent and actually open listings. The added bonus is that you already have a real estate agent so you can schedule a visit and make an offer quickly. The good news is that you usually don’t have to commit to anything to log into a real estate agency app or website and it’s usually not very difficult. Those who are ready to buy a home should definitely go this route.

By far its most interesting feature is the ability to watch live video feeds from open houses with Chromecast support. It’s free to download and verify. It’s not without flaws, however.

Official real estate apps

Screenshot of Keller Williams 2020

Joe Hindy / Android Authority

Most major cities and towns have real estate agents in the area. All of them either have an official app such as Keller Williams (linked to the button below) or at least one website with listings. The listings are taken directly from MLS. They are generally more up-to-date, more factually accurate, and more detailed than services like Zillow or Trulia. Make no mistake, Zillow and Trulia show everything that is available, but an official real estate agent service will remove options after purchases immediately rather than over a long period of time. We recommend that you speak to your real estate agent to see if they have an official app or website that you can use to see what is actually available around you.

Magic Universal Viewfinder does not allow you to control your Nikon cameras. However, it can be very useful for finding locations and planning shoots. It uses your phone’s camera to emulate how the shots look on your Nikon. This will change the aspect ratio and you can even change things like the exposure. It’s a great tool for setting up shots before you carry all your camera gear. Previously this was a single app for Nikon cameras, but it also works for many other models.

Nikon offers several apps in the Play Store. They are for all kinds of things. Several of them are login apps for various needs. There is also a Nikkor shopping app, an image sharing app, etc. By far the most useful application is SnapBridge. It lets you connect to your camera, use your phone as a manual shutter (only in photo mode, unfortunately), and it’s the easiest way to upgrade your more modern camera, like the series Z. At a minimum, Nikon owners should check out SnapBridge and maybe try the others.
